The GreyScale (TGS):
A New Standard in Leadership Assessment
At sparcgap communications, we’re proud to offer The GreyScale (TGS), a revolutionary leadership assessment tool co-founded by Vicki McLean, our founder and leadership consultant.
Alongside CEO Kristian Barnes, Dr. Paul Phillips and Peter Griffith, Vicki McLean developed TGS to redefine how businesses evaluate and support leaders in the modern workplace.

Designed for today’s complex organisational landscape, TGS delves into “dark” personality traits—Borderline, Machiavellian, Narcissistic, Psychopathic, and Sociopathic—that can undermine team cohesion and overall performance if left unchecked. Unlike traditional assessments, TGS offers a nuanced view of both strengths and potential vulnerabilities, allowing us to shape leadership that is both effective and psychologically safe.

In alignment with modern health and safety legislation, TGS also evaluates leaders based on key psychosocial risk factors—Anxiety, Stimulation, Conformity, and Ambiguity (ASCA)—to build a workplace culture that prioritises well-being.
This assessment allows us to detect and address any potential toxicity in leadership, equipping organisations with the insights needed to create a cohesive, high-performing culture.

At sparcgap, we integrate TGS as a core component of our consulting process, empowering us to start from a place of insight and understanding.
By pinpointing leaders' strengths and areas for growth, we develop tailored, actionable plans that build trust and engagement across teams. With Vicki’s expertise and commitment, we ensure leaders not only fit their roles but are equipped to drive sustainable, positive change throughout the organisation.
